The Community Inclusion Project

The project has been running now for nine weeks. The core club members are Suzanne, Mary and Ronnie. We have had help though, from John E., Sandra, Roger, David A, Martin, Paula, Reg, Ros and Terry.

So far it has proved successful.  We have had a variety of Link visitors and similarly with those from Support Horizons. They all enjoy coming, enjoy the conversations and meeting new people.  The refreshment is always welcomed by all.

On rainy days we complete jigsaws and play card games.  On the sunny days we ensure that all our visitors drink plenty of water and use sunscreen. We have even acquired two sunhats.  There have been unexpected outcomes too.  The chef from The Castle wanted to try the game, we invited him to come over and he now helps with our visitors. He has brought his helper and they are now going to join our club. This has sparked more interest from the staff.

Our Chairman visited too. He was pleased to see that the project is working well and that we were helping the wider community by introducing a broader group to the game of bowls.
