IMPORTANT NEWS:
RCBBA

Statement issued by the Kennet League regarding the running of these competitions in 2020.
Gentlemen
You may by now have seen that Bowls England have had an emergency committee meeting yesterday to decide future of bowls for this season. This information is now available on the BE web site and also on the RCBBA web site, and basically says that domestic events will be cancelled for the season. Individual clubs will have their own view as to when or whether they may be open.
I can confirm that the first half of the KL and KLV season will be cancelled. At this time we will leave the door open to possibility of all clubs playing each other just the once (instead of home and away) in second half of the season from week eight onwards. This will be reviewed probably in late May, and I will contact all at that time.
I can also therefore confirm that the pre-season meeting to be held on 5th April at Tilehurst BC is also cancelled. If score cards need to be distributed for second half of the season we will make arrangements at that time. If second half of the season is also cancelled, there is no need of cards!
Sorry to be the bearer of such sad news but we feel it is important that the KL committee remains in step with BE and RCBBA in our approach to the current crisis. I am sure this is understood, but if there are any questions then please contact me.
Regards
Nigel
